Cuba is such a beautiful country, and everywhere you go, there’s music, colours and people dancing... especially in Havana.

Havana: a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with five centuries of history from Spanish conquest to revolution and communism. Host city for the 2007 Icograda World Design Congress when I visited the island for the very first time. This album presents collection of images from old Havana – taken between 2007 and 2009. It is one of those trips that inspired me the most. Havana is a romantic place, filled with symbolism, ideology, idealistic thinking that went wrong, Cuban culture, rum and cigars; colours and shades of life. Hundreds years of history of colonial slavery and trade, followed by the years of capitalist exploitation and then communist government.

A fascinating place to visit. After more than 50 years in the cold, Cuba’s relationship with the US is finally thawing and the Carribean nation finds itself on the bring of change inspired by new model of communism imported from China. Havana has plenty to offer in terms of architecture, music, and history, but once you’ve seen the vintage streets, Cadilacs, Fiats, Ladas, it is time for a taste of of Cuban countryside and unspoilt Carribean beaches…
